Consisting of three identical outdoor proving grounds located in Tucson,
Arizona, San Pietro, Italy, and Berlin, Germany, the GTS Network gives
SOLON the unique ability to test and understand regional affects on PV
modules and related technologies to optimize module and system design.
Regional factors such as temperature, humidity, wind, snow, and dust can
significantly affect the performance of solar PV modules. For example,
one module type may work well in a warm weather climate like Arizona on
a single-axis tracker, whereas, another may perform better in cooler
regions, such as Maine, on a fixed-tilt mounting system. At the landmark
solar test facilities, SOLON has the ability to study various areas of

A custom Data Acquisition System (DAS) is used to measure voltage and

Even as politicians are busy putting a prize tag to their dahi handis, the real heros of the festival – govindas – have been practicing hard to get ready for the D-day on September 2. For the first time ever, practice sessions have been arranged across the city for govindas by the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) and watching the govindas practice will be famous Marathi actors.
According to Ajinkya Naik, president, south-central Mumbai, Maharashtra Navnirman Vidyarthi Sena (MNVS), the govindas will be given gifts and cash prizes during the practice sessions as encouragement. “The govinda groups usually start practicing a month before and after sometime up to five floors of the pyramid can stand firmly,” said Naik.
