Artist's Self Portrait
|
Dixie says: Color has always brought me a special hint of excitement, starting with my first box of Crayolas, through colored pencils, oils, and finally watercolor. The transparency of watercolor pigment allowing the white paper to show and the mystery of the colors swirling with the water on paper are exciting components of the process that keep me coming back. Light flowing through flowers and glass has always intrigued me. I enjoy observing, growing, and painting all kinds of flowers in watercolor, trying to duplicate the effect of light. I know that perfection is not available, but the joy in pursuing it and the thrill of any progress along that path is enough to keep me trying. I enjoy sharing the pleasure with anyone who wants to look! |
